ISO & Agent Weekly: CardConnect’s SmartPay Enables Online Billing

CardConnect has acquired SmartPay, an enterprise online billing tool developed by Onsharp, an interactive agency that designs, builds and supports web-based technology.
The SmartPay enterprise billing tool gives a business owner’s customers the ability to receive, view and pay their bills online, eliminating the need for paper invoices, a press release said. The tool benefits businesses that rely on invoicing – such as law firms, hospitals and manufacturers.
“As we’ve continued to add tools to the CardConnect suite of products, we knew that online billing and invoice presentment was an essential offering for the 50,000 merchants we serve,” said Jeff Shanahan, CardConnect president. “Now with the ability to send electronic invoices, we’re helping businesses to simplify their payment acceptance and automate the accounts receivables process as much as possible.”
Joe Sandin, Onsharp president, welcomes the deal.
“With CardConnect’s large merchant base and national salesforce, we hope to extend SmartPay’s reach and continue to provide online billing solutions to some of the country’s most well-known brands,” Sandin said in the release.
